Halloween Happenings

Friday, October 29th was Trick or Treat in downtown Walnut Creek.  We had so much fun seeing all the kids in their costumes.  We saw lots of pirates, ladybugs, princesses and spidermen.  Almost 600 children came to Unveiled Bridal.  We gave out candy, glow sticks and princess wands.  Here are some very happy tick or treaters with their wands:

Bridal Fairs

Last week Unveiled Bridal had a busy week attending three bridal fairs.  The first was at Boundary Oaks in Walnut Creek, then we went to Scott's Seafood Jack London Square.  On Thursday we visited a new venue, The Thomas Estate.
If you haven't attended a bridal fair, what should you expect?  A bridal fair should be a place for  a bride to go to discover new wedding vendors and find some ideas for your wedding.  You will see many photographers, locations for weddings, rehearsal dinners and hotel accommodations for your guests. Other vendors include make-up and hair professionals, officiants, event planners, florists, bakeries and many more.
Most bridal fairs will give you a bag to hold all the information you will receive from the vendors along with the treats the vendors give away.  Many brides bring address labels so they can easily give their contact information to vendors they want to keep in touch with and receive further information.
If you do attend a bridal fair, take some time to visit each booth and chat with the vendors. Talk to them about your wedding.  Look at photographs and products for inspiration. Most of all, have fun!

Grace Cathedral Real Wedding

Hazel and Andrew were married in San Francisco at the gorgeous Grace Cathedral.  Their reception was held at the exquisite Fairmont Hotel.  Hazel came to Unveiled Bridal to create her table namesand place cards. Hazel and Andrew took photos of themselves at various San Francisco landmarks and named their tables after them.  They were so cute her guests took them home and Hazel asked us to make more for her for wedding scrapbook!

Entertaining Children at Weddings

Children can be so cute at weddings.  You never quite know what they will do.  Will your ring bearer walk down the aisle without throwing the pillow like a football?  Will the flower girl throw petals or will she try to pick them up? Children can add some much needed comic relief to a wedding ceremony, but what about the reception?  How can you keep them entertained?

If you have a large number of children you may want to consider having a seperate room in your venue just for kids.  You would need to have a babysitter (or a few depending on the number of children) and lots of activities for them to do.  A television for movies, board games, paper and crayons, etc. You may even want to serve dinner to the children in this room. Invite them back to the reception during the dancing so they can show off their skills and entertain you and your guests once again!

If you have a smaller group of children, you may want to have something for them at the table to keep them busy.  A Wedding Day Coloring Book with crayons:

Or you could have a Children's Wedding Day Activity Kit waiting for them at the table:

Flower Girl and Ring Bearer Gifts – Part 2

Every month the Unveiled Bridal blog will feature a different aspect of planning a wedding.  For the month of September we will look at gifts for the flower girl and ring bearer along with ways to entertain children at the wedding.
Many little girls love to pretend to be a princess, so let your flower girl be Her Floral Highness for the day!  The Her Floral Highness Kit includes a certificate to be signed by the bride and groom proclaiming the crowning of Her Floral Highness to your flower girl along with a Her Floral Highness T-shirt, floral scepter and crown befitting royalty.

Is this the first time your flower girl will make the walk down the aisle? The Fiona the Flower Girl Book is a great gift to help her understand what will happen in the time leading to the wedding and the wedding day.

Another sweet gift for your flower girl is this Personalized Heart Bracelet:

Next week, when you have children at the wedding, what you can do to keep them entertained.
